Winner or Loser Activity
Winner or Loser urges people to look at things from a positive perspective and turn it into a learning experience. This interesting and simple activity is also a fantastic icebreaker game.
Divide employees into groups of two. After this, one of the team members shares a negative experience of work life with his partner.
Now, the other team member retells the same story while highlighting the positive aspects of the experience. Partners should switch roles after talking about each issue.
The result is that by the end of the game, each member will have found the silver lining to their life experiences that they probably did not wish to relive. This will teach them to view the hardships of life (both professional and personal) from a positive perspective and learn from it.
Moment of Reflection
At the end of the activity, sit people in a large circle and give them a few minutes to reflect on the benefits of this exercise.
- How did sharing a negative experience with your partner help you?
- How did you feel after your partner gave you feedback highlighting the positive aspects?
- What did you feel when your partner told you the same experience but in a different way?
- How did the information your partner shared with you make you feel?
