Eye Contact Game
Eye contact game is an exercise in trust that requires no special equipment, just an even number of participants. This exercise can be difficult for many people as it requires some confidence and overcoming discomfort.
Some participants will avoid eye contact and others just aren’t very good at it or will feel awkward or awkward. Games can help people become more comfortable with each other, so pairing up less familiar team members is key.
This exercise builds trust and more effective communication as the group becomes more familiar with each other.
Start by pairing up strangers with male and female partners and have them stand facing each other about a foot apart. Then start a 1-minute timer, asking participants to maintain eye contact with their partner.
No person should wear a hat or sunglasses so that their eyes and face are fully visible. There may be some laughs and a little awkwardness on the first try, but that’s all part of the game.
You can switch partners and try again, this time increasing the time to 2 minutes.
After the exercise, start an open discussion about how they felt at first and how long it took for them to feel less uncomfortable.
Over time, eye contact will become less awkward and teams will communicate more effectively and increase productivity in no time.
