The Newspaper Fashion Show to laugh and workteam
Newspaper Fashion Show is a fun and creative team activity to get people out of their comfort zone and facilitate group integration through play. Participants are given a time limit to design and create an item of clothing out of a newspaper, which requires group brainstorming and delegation of tasks.
Gather your group and organize them into teams of 4 to 5 participants. This activity works best if each group it’s given their own space to work in away from the other teams.
Each team will need the same amount of resources, provide them with newspapers, tape, and scissors. We suggest these materials, but you can use other elements to give it a creative touch.
The teams must organise themselves to firstly design and then create a costume that can be worn and exhibited at a catwalk at the end of the exercise. Wait 40 minutes for the groups to make the garments and then go to the catwalk to display the designs. If you wish, you can create a panel of judges to declare the winning team.
This activity is a fun team exercise where the groups are only limited by their imaginations and of course agreeing on a design!
