Gossip Time Game

Gossip Time is a group activity for people to learn curious and interesting things from other colleagues. It is also a game that helps to strengthen ties and improves interpersonal relationships.

We recommend using this icebreaker exercise when group participants know each other fairly well and when there is a high degree of trust. It is an activity where people can share fun information about each other, which builds greater mutual appreciation and promotes stronger personal bonds.

It is an activity suitable for both small groups and large groups.

The facilitator must choose one person from the group to be the first to participate, they must leave the room for a few minutes. The other participants should write on a sheet of paper something nice and curious about the person outside.

You can refer to a quality, skill or just some funny anecdote. The facilitator will collect all the sheets of paper and select one at random to read aloud.

The person outside the room had to go inside to hear the gossip about her. When the facilitator reads a gossip, the person must guess who they think wrote it.

If correct, the discovered person must leave the room and the dynamic will be repeated. If you don’t get it right, you’ll have to keep reading random gossip until you figure out who wrote it.

It is important to play this game until all the people have fulfilled the role of leaving the room.
