The Find the Balance Challenge
Find the Balance is an extremely fun and dynamic group challenge that involves exercising teamwork and physical skills.
First, assemble a 1 x 2 x 4m wooden platform that balances on a center/bottom beam (fulcrum). Platform layouts vary, but the activity typically involves 12-15 participants.
Inspect the area for unsafe ground cover and other obstructions.
Inspect and confirm the integrity of the platform.
Ensure that the platform is properly positioned on the lower centred beam (fulcrum.)
In advance, assess your group’s physical abilities and spotting skills as required for this exercise. Challenge your group to use their weight to balance the platform so that the ends do not touch the ground for a period of ten seconds.
If the platform touches the ground, invite your group to start over. All participants start on the platform.
Hands are not permitted to make contact with the platform at any time.
When ready, allow up to 15 minutes to complete the task or other time as will challenge your group. Process your group’s experience at the conclusion of the task.
