A different path in life
This activity is about Self-knowledge. Almost everyone has wished at some point they had taken a different path in life.
We get started in one direction, and before long there’s no turning back. Sometimes this isn’t that big of a deal, but what a tragedy it is when a life so full of promise gets off track and derails.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if simply stating the desire for a new path could inspire it to action?.
Almost everyone has wished at some point that they had taken a different path in life. Vocalizing this desire can be calming, inspiring, or otherwise encouraging.
Perhaps there are people in the room who want to hear that they are not the only ones who feel a certain way. This activity is very good because the participants can inspire and encourage each other.
Be careful when attempting this activity, as the topic of life choices can be too intense. There are people who feel uncomfortable expressing their deep inner thoughts to almost strangers.
Ask each participant to share their name, a little about the path they chose to take in life, and which path they would choose today if they could do it all over, knowing what they know today. Ask them to add how the different path relates to why they are here.
For a more lighthearted approach, tell the group to imagine something that they think they’d like to try once or twice rather than choosing a different life path. Maybe someone has always wanted to drive a racecar, train a dolphin, or walk a runway.
