The Four Arrowheads Challenege

Four Arrowheads is a challenging brain teaser to develop teamwork skills and problem-solving lateral thinking.

In advance, download the Arrowheads Puzzle template from here. Print the template, glue the pieces to a piece of cardboard, and cut out the shapes to make the pieces sturdier to handle.

Divide the large group into small groups. You’ll need one puzzle set (seven pieces) for each small group you wish to challenge. Each group aims to use the seven pieces of the puzzle to assemble fouridentical, simultaneous arrowhead shapes.

Explain that one solid arrowhead shape is provided as one of the seven pieces. The remaining three arrowheads are exactly the same size as this shape.

When the puzzle is solved, everyone will be able to see all four arrowhead shapes at the same time. Encourage your group to think and work in team.

Have a go yourself before you present this exercise to your group. Can download the solution from here.
