The Magazine Story Activity

In the Magazine Story activity, each team has to create an imaginary magazine cover story about the successful completion of a project. They have to get the right images, come up with headlines, formulate quotes, etc.

This is a great exercise in creativity that can also inspire your team to think bigger. The goal is to visualize success, motivate team members and encourage them to think big.

Get players to create a magazine cover story about your project. The players don’t have to write the complete story; they only have to write the headlines and create images, quotes, and sidebars.

Divide participants into teams of 3-6 players. Give them markers, pens, and anything else they’ll need to create a fictional magazine cover.

Create several templates for different elements, this should include:

  1. Magazine cover
  2. Cover story headline
  3. Quotes from leaders and team members
  4. Sidebars about project highlights
  5. Images

Distribute these templates to each team and ask them to fill in the points by focusing on the project.

Optionally, a prize can be offered to the most creative group.

Remember, this creative exercise helps your team members think big and visualize their success. It can also be a powerful motivational tool.
